How Do I Keep My Dentures From Slipping and Sliding?

Having a denture that slips and slides in the mouth can be extremely annoying, but there is a way to keep it stable and reliable throughout the day, and that’s with the use of denture adhesives!

Denture adhesives in Riddle, Oregon, are beneficial products that can give you the results you are looking for. They generally come in the form of a powder or paste, and they successfully stabilize your appliance so you can have the strong and reliable smile you deserve. However, there is only one way to safely take advantage of this product, and that’s by using it correctly. So, to help you keep your smile in tip-top shape all while locking your appliance in place, Dr. Natanael Repta has provided the following instructions:

-Paste adhesive: When applying the paste to the upper denture, simply place three short strips of the adhesive to the appliance—two along the ridge area and one down the center. Then, for the lower denture, place three short strips of the paste on the center of the ridge area. Whatever you do, do not put the paste on the borders of the denture.

-Powder adhesive: Apply this adhesive on the tissue-bearing surface of the denture. Then, shake off any excess powder and put the appliance into your mouth. This option may be preferred over a paste adhesive because it is easier to clean and it doesn’t keep the denture away from the tissue.
